Filler dissolving is a procedure that involves reversing the effects of dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers (such as Juvederm, Restylane, etc) are gel-like substances that are injected to volumize areas of the face, enhance features such as lips, and define areas such as the cheekbones or chins.

In some cases, a patient may not be satisfied with the results of their filler treatment or may have experienced an adverse event. In these instances, a filler dissolving treatment can be used to break down the filler and reverse its effects.

 

Filler dissolving is accomplished by using an enzyme called Hyaluronidase, which is specifically designed to dissolve hyaluronic acid-based fillers. Hyaluronidase is used to break down the filler, adjust the results, and reverse the effects of the filler treatment.
